Emily Deschanel has established herself as one of Hollywood's hottest rising stars. In the last year she has been seen in the feature films "Cold Mountain" for Anthony Minghella, "The Alamo" for John Lee Hancock and "Spider-Man 2" for Sam Raimi. In October 2004, Interview magazine named her one of “6 Actors to Watch” in their annual “Young Hollywood” issue. She next stars opposite Josh Lucas and Derek Luke in the film “Glory Road” for producer Jerry Bruckheimer, to be released in January 2006.

Deschanel attended the 2003 Toronto International Film Festival and the 2004 Sundance Film Festival with the independent film "Easy," directed by Jane Weinstock.

Deschanel's television credits include guest appearances on the series “Crossing Jordan,” “Providence” and “Law & Order: SVU.” Recent theater credits for Deschanel, a member of the Interact Theatre Company, include the roles of “Emily” in "Our Town" and “Natasha” in "Three Sisters."

Deschanel was born in Los Angeles and received her Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Theater from Boston University.
